Wendy Holdsworth, LPCC
Wendy is an independently licensed therapist (LPCC), and has been working full-time since graduating with her masters degree in clinical mental health counseling.
“I find great joy in creating an atmosphere where my clients can learn to let go of shame and embrace their authentic selves with humor, compassion, and curiosity. Too often we spend our lives trying desperately to reject painful stories from our past or parts of ourselves we hate, at the cost of repeating unhealthy relationship cycles or struggling with our mental health. My goal as a therapist is to improve my clients trust in their own strengths and build resilience through developing coping skills designed to help them take control of their quality of life.
Starting therapy and facing the discomfort inside can sound scary and painful, but therapy is also a space where there can be laughter, tears, curiosity, and profound healing. Whether you are coming for a session or two to work through a stuck point in your life, or to spend time digging deep to heal unresolved pain, therapy can be a wonderful investment in you.
In my practice I use an eclectic mix of therapeutic modalities. I find that after a session or two with my clients, the most useful approach for the individual will reveal itself. Some of the modalities I use include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to explore and challenge ongoing unhelpful beliefs and patterns, a psychodynamic approach to develop insights into the influence of our past experiences on our current behaviors, and mindfulness techniques to improve internal awareness and calming, amongst others.”
