Dr. Tricia Klay, LPCC

Dr. Tricia Klay is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor specializing in the care of those with eating disorders. Tricia is passionate about helping individuals and families break free from the bondage of eating disorders, diet culture, disordered eating, and body image concerns. As one of the few providers in the Dayton area trained in Family Based Treatment for eating disorders, she brings expert knowledge, evidence-based practice, and a large dose of compassion to each therapeutic encounter. Tricia’s therapeutic approach is deeply relational as she partners with clients to reach full freedom in an environment of safety. Believing effective therapy is a marriage of art and science, Tricia utilizes evidence-based practice and a trusting therapeutic relationship to creatively tailor care to each individual client. Practicing from a health at every size and intuitive eating informed framework, Tricia helps clients learn to trust their body and true self while acknowledging and addressing systemic oppression.

Tricia received her masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Dayton and her Ph.D in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Cincinnati. Outside of clinical practice, Tricia enjoys teaching and mentoring through her role as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Dayton. Tricia also provides trainings and speaking engagements related to eating disorders, health at every size, and intuitive eating for other providers, agency staff members, and students in the helping professions.
